SILE N.Y., N.Y. Norinco Chinese AK-47 Pre Ban Imports

SILE Guns are very prevalent in the USA. They are all Norinco, and of good quality. These guns are usually made in State Factory /66\. Some of them have the less common Blue Bolt and Carrier.

These guns were imported with both Red and Black Bakelite Bayonets. They are very solid, and as authentic as you can get a stamped Type 56S on the American Semi Auto market.

  4. I have a Norinco AKM/47S stamped
    AKM/ 47S
    SEMI AUTO
    7.62 x 39MM
    NORINCO
    SILE N.Y.,N.Y.
    MADE IN CHINA

With a serial number of M002479 on the receiver and 2479 on the bolt assembly.

Any ideas when it might have been manufactured? Is that number a really early one?

  5. David, I bet you forgot to mention it has a Blued bolt. That is the most unique feature about your gun. Most of them have a MS pre-fix before the serial number. And some just the M. They were made in factory /66\. Its just a sile pre-ban. from 87-89. Nice gun though,

  6. I have what looks like a post ban Sile AK. The bayonet lug is machine off and "7" stamped before and after the 56S is the only difference that I can see between this AK and a pre-ban AK.
    Stamping on the AK -

    /66\ 756S7 512990
    SEMI AUTO
    7.62mm x39
    MADE IN CHINA
    SILE N.Y.,N.Y.
the NORINCO emblem is before the "Semi & 7.62mm"

I can provide pictures if you like!
